Video Traffic Reports To Be Demonstrated At CES On First Portable Motion Picture (MPEG-4) Phone Device

SERVICE TO BE SHOWCASED AT WINTER CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW

(LAS VEGAS) January 8, 2002: Traffic411, a leading provider of traffic reports and information over the Web and wireless networks, has teamed with Impactra, Co., Ltd., a Korean manufacturer of portable media content players, to make traffic reports and driving-related consumer features available on Impactra's Motion-i portable motion picture player and coming soon to the Sync-i portable motion picture phone. The devices were introduced by Microsoft chairman Bill Gates during his keynote speech Monday at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

The traffic reports, featuring freeway video and colorful maps detailing speeds and accident listings, also will be demonstrated on Impactra's Motion-i and Sync-i portable devices during CES, January 8-11, 2002, on the show floor at the Las Vegas Convention Center, South Hall 3-4 Booth #14908 and in Suite #2515 at the Riviera Hotel.

"Traffic reports are among the most valuable information to be distributed over handheld devices because they are time and location sensitive," said Lisa Osborn, founder and chief executive officer of Traffic411. "Consumers will appreciate the ability to tap into reliable traffic information based upon their specific commute."

"Impactra's portable Windows Media player, Motion-i, is the world's first portable device that is dedicated to playing motion pictures," said Hugo Jung, CEO of the Seoul Korea based Impactra Co., Ltd. "The Sync-i swivel-type cellular phone enables users to quickly and easily download content and play back motion picture files." Both products are based on the Windows CE.NET platform, because of its functionality, including wireless support for streaming media.

"It's exciting to see the technology we've been hearing about for the past couple of years is now a reality," said Peggy Miles, president of Intervox Communications, a recognized authority in streaming media. "Traffic411 and Impactra's new mobile devices will change the way consumers get emergency traffic, and news. Today, it's more important than ever to have access to the latest live and on-demand traffic and news anywhere in the world."

Traffic411.com Joins PacketVideo In Wireless Multimedia Trials

TRAFFIC411.COM TO PROVIDE TRAFFIC CONTENT FOR DELIVERY TO WIRELESS HANDHELD DEVICES

(SAN DIEGO, CA) June 13, 2000 - Traffic411.com and PacketVideo today announced an agreement to trial the delivery of video over wireless networks. PacketVideo has developed standards-compliant MPEG-4 software that enables the distribution of video over wireless networks. As part of the trials, Traffic411.com will provide traffic content for delivery to wireless devices.

"Traffic411.com is striving to be the leading provider of on-demand broadcast traffic reports," said Traffic411 founder Lisa Osborn. "Wireless video is an outstanding medium for connecting with commuters to inform them of traffic problems and congestion, and we are thrilled to be working with an industry leader like PacketVideo to bring this to fruition".

"It is often while people are out and about that they demand the latest traffic info," said Robert Tercek, president of PacketVideo's Programming Division. "Traffic411 provides precisely the type of timely, on-demand information wireless subscribes want, and we are very happy to have them participating in our program."

PacketVideo's MPEG-4 based software enables the encoding, decoding, and transmission of full motion video over wireless networks on mobile devices. The technology enables the distribution of video over wireless networks with bit rates as low as 14.4 kbps (which is the rate for networks in the US today) as well as 2.5G and 3.5G networks. The technology is air-interface independent, which means that it works across any type of cellular network, including CDMA, GSM, TDMA, GPRS, and UMTS.

PacketVideo is working with wireless carriers in the US and internationally to trial the technology over their networks. The company has also announced alliances with leading device and silicon designers and manufacturers to develop hardware utilizing PacketVideo technology, including Casio, Compaq, Intel, NEC, SANYO, and Texas Instruments.
